Conveyor technology

 

The conveyor technology, developed and produced by AMB, is designed especially for the function of transporting different types of waste:

  • residual waste like household- and bulky waste
  • mixed waste like industrial waste, bottom ash and recycling wood
  • waste from separate collections like light packaging, paper, cardboard, carton, bio waste 

These heterogeneous types of waste make demand of the high standard conveyor technology, which must provide different basic functions:

  • feeding conveyors, under and over floor
  • ascending conveyor, picking conveyor, acceleration conveyor, etc.
  • bulk conveyor (open series)
  • Reversible, movable and pivoting conveyor

Technically, this demands can be realised with different types:

  • chain-guided conveyors like roller chain conveyors, through chain and drag chain conveyor or plate belt conveyors
  • drum-guided conveyors like sliding-bottom conveyor and carrying roller conveyor

Chain-guided and drum-guided conveyor

Chain-guided conveyors have a very sturdy construction, in which the belt is moved by a fixed connection between support ledges and chain, which runs over chain wheels. In the drum-guided conveyor, the tensed belt runs over a drive- and a redirection drum.

The basic structure consists of a modular system. Target is low susceptibity to errors and therefore a high availability of the whole plant. At the same time the modular construction with mostly standartised and screwed elements provides a high flexibility for coming upgrades or rebuilding. Main feature here is a closed support frame in different construction heights with openings for service purposes.

Drive- and deflection segments with their tensioning station are adapted in different lengths, just like the height of the material guiding ledges and the side sealing of the belt. To ensure plant safety, the sensor system includes RPM encoder as standard. Belt tracking control, repair switches and emergency-stop devices may be provided optionally.
